The Nigerian Tulip International Colleges Foundation (NTICF), on Friday said it was able to slaughter hundreds of bulls for distribution in IDPs camps across 20 States during the Eid-el-Kabir.

The Foundation disclosed that it also distributed other Sallah items like bags of rice and clothing materials to over 100,000 people in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camps across the country during the period.

Mr Behlul Basaran, the coordinator of the Foundation, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

According to him, the gesture, which has been ongoing for many years, is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Foundation.

“Every year, we try to put smiles on the faces of the needy in the society, most especially those living in IDPs camps and the less privileged.

“The gesture is part of the corporate social responsibility of the Foundation to felicitate with the needy, especially during festive periods.

“It is a way of giving back to the society that has been receptive of us in the past 20 years.

“It is our little way of saying thank you to the society,” he said.

Basaran said that the Foundation was established in Nigeria to carry out CSR projects; alongside its sister organisations under the umbrella of the First Surat Group of Companies.

The coordinator added that the Foundation has made tangible interventions to the needy, including free cataract surgeries, drilling of boreholes, building of schools in rural communities, amongst others.

“Our Moto is ‘Lets Smile Together’ this we have striven to do since 1998 across in the country, because the essence is to share with those who are in need.

“In FCT, we visited the Karamajiji settlement, which has more than 1,000 disabled and visually impaired people to felicitate and to extend kindness to them.

“We were able to slaughter hundreds of bulls for distribution across 20 States of the federation, while providing them with items like bags of rice and clothing materials for their Sallah,” he said. (NAN)
