Emmanuel Chukwuma, the archbishop of Enugu Province and bishop of Enugu Diocese Anglican Communion, has urged married couples to avoid divorce and live life worthy of emulation.

Chukwuma said this in a sermon at the Church of Pentecost, Awka during Golden Jubilee celebration of Maxwell Anikwenwa, a most reverend, and Blessing Nnediogo, the wife.

He commended the couple for sticking to their marriage vows all these years, enjoining other couples to emulate them.

“Finding a virtuous woman in this dispensation is not easy,’’ the prelate observed.

He, then, praised the sterling qualities of Mrs Blessing Anikwenwa that  includes cool headedness, patience and tolerance.

Chukwuma said that it was only love that could have bound the couple together all these years, urging the congregation to imbibe this love in them.

“Man build’s the house while wife makes the home,” the bishop noted.

He pleaded with each couple to pray all the time and imbibe the spirit of forgiveness as both were very important ingredients in marriages.

“Nnediogo played vital roles in the life of Maxwell as she stuck to him no matter the challenges ahead of them,’’  Chukwuma said.

The prelate enjoined married couples not to fail in their responsibilities as husbands and wives for them to have lasting relationship.

Anikwenwa, the celebrator, commended all present at the occasion and wished them journey mercies to their various destinations.

The occasion attracted some important dignitaries from far and wide including Bishop Alexander Ibezim of Awka Diocese, former governors of Anambra, Peter Obi and Virgy Etiaba.

Others are bishops from other dioceses across the federation, Uche Ekwunife, royal fathers, and other people of good will.
