THE Zamfara State Government has disbursed N70.6 million for various development projects in 10 communities.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the projects were under the World Bank funded Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP).

The communities are Nasarawar Dembo, Yarimawa, Galadanci, Magami, Gamagiwa, Yargeda, Jangeru, Kazama, Katuru and Shinkafi II, located in Bakura, Maradun, Talata-Mafara and Shinkafi Local Government Areas.

The Chief Executive Officer of CSDP in the state, Alhaji Garba Muhammad said the projects cover water supply, health, education and electrification among others.

“We are presenting the cheque of N17.7 million, which is one third of the total cost of the funds allocated as first phase of the proposed projects.

“Community Projects Monitoring Committees from the benefiting communities were assigned to carry out the implementation of the projects in their respective communities,” he said.

Muhammad urged the committees to be honest and ensure timely completion of the projects.

“We plan to execute over 100 projects in 2019. Various communities are to benefit from these interventions before end of this year,” he said.

The official commended traditional rulers in the state and other relevant stakeholders for their support to the activities of the agency. (NAN)
