MR Bello Muazu, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara, has warned personnel of the Corps to adhere strictly to rules of engagement during the upcoming General Elections.

Muazu gave the warning during a capacity building workshop on the elections, organised for officers and men of the command, on Thursday in Gusau.

He said that the workshop was to sensitise the personnel on their responsibilities during the elections, especially the protection of voters, election officials and materials.

The commandant said the Corps, in collaboration with other security agencies, would ensure adequate security before, during and after the elections.

Muazu also cautioned the personnel against partisanship, saying they must remain apolitical.

He added that their actions must be guided by law, in order to have hitch free elections in the state.

The commandant further said that the NSCDC was ready to safeguard lives and property in the state during the elections.

He added that the Corps was also fully ready to protect critical infrastructure and public utilities during the period, to forestall any form of sabotage. (NAN)
