THE Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 3,000 personnel for the Governorship and State Assembly election in Bauchi State.

This is contained in a statement by Spokesman of the Corps, DSC Ibrahim Gabdo on Friday in Bauchi.

He said the Corps deployed personnel to the 20 local government areas to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections in the state.

“The Corps has also set aside officers and men to protect Critical National Assets across the state.

“The Commandant of the Corps, Ameh James reaffirms the level of collaboration among security agencies with the Nigerian Police Force being the lead agency on election duty.

“INEC personnel, sensitive and non sensitive materials would be properly secured within the election environment for free, fair and credible election to take place,” he said.

Gabdo said the Special Intelligence Squad of the Corps would help in maintaining peace atmosphere, and urged voters to observe orderliness during the exercise. (NAN)
