Ponle, Nwosu, Others appointed CEOs for federal ministry of information agencies

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Buki Ponle as the new managing director of the News agency of Nigeria, NAN, and Francis Ndubuisi Nwosu as the executive secretary, Nigerian Press Council, NPC. Both Ponle and Nwosu are former retirees of NAN. Buki retired as the director in charge of Editorial Department, NAN.
Buhari also approved the appointment of seven other chief executive officers for of the agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture.
According to the approval letter, which was conveyed to Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, by Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, chief of staff to the president, on Tuesday, August 25, Nura Sani Kangiwa was named the director-general, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism.
REalnews reports that Ebeten William Ivara, was appointed director-general, National Gallery of Arts; Olalekan Fadolapo, registrar and chief executive officer, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria and Prof. Sunday Enessi Ododo, General Manager, National Theatre.
Others are Ado Mohammed Yahuza, executive secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation; Prof. Aba Isa Tijjani, director-general, National Commission for Museums and Monuments, and Oluwabunmi Ayobami Amao, director general, Centre For Black And African Arts And Civilization.
The appointments take effect from September 1, according to a statement by Segun Adeyemi, special assistant to the President (Media),
Office of the Minister of Information and Culture, Abuja, on Wednesday, August 26.
