Power of Christ’s resurrection can change Nigeria’s situation, Bishop Adekunle says
General News
THE Diocesan Bishop of Egbaland, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Adekunle, says it is only the power of resurrection that can change the situation the country is facing.
Adekunle told the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Abeokuta that the power of resurrection of Christ could change every situation and problem facing the country.
He noted that Nigeria was still in the state of wilderness, and needs the resurrection power that would change the situation around.
“Today being Easter Sunday we look at the power of God, that he overcame wilderness.
“Wilderness is a dry land and a jungle where wild animals inhabit. It is a place where people get in and get scared that they can be consumed and swallowed.
“Wilderness is a place where people are hopeless. No help, and dryness.
“So, at this moment, in terms of the economy in Nigeria we are dry and even the climate situation is not conducive. People are finding it harsh and tough
“The power of resurrection can change situations for God, the way God can bring life to death.
“It is the resurrection power that brings dry bones to life, the power that brought the children of Egypt when they moved through the wilderness to the promised land,” Adekunle said.
The Bishop, however, urged Nigerians to rely on Jesus Christ who died for their sake and resurrected, saying that at every end of wilderness there is a new life
“….this is because people will start afresh because it is a new beginning
“So, with the resurrection of Christ we have entered a new beginning, time of new beginning. God will turn our situation around and bring good out of our trials,” he said.
Also, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, while speaking on the Easter celebration urged Nigerians to endure the situation facing the country
He added that Nigeria was not only the country facing hardship in the world, advising Nigerians to continue to pray for the betterment of the country.(NAN)
