President Muhammadu Buhari approves New Appointments

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of three directors-general and chief executive officers of three agencies under the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.

The appointees are Umar Albarka Hassan, National Steel Raw Materials Exploration Agency, NSRMEA,  Prof. Linus Okon Asuquo, National Metallurgical Development Centre, Jos and Prof. (Engr.) Suleiman Bolaji Hassan, Nigeria Institute of Mining and Geosciences, Jos

All the appoinments are for a period of four years beginning from July 12.

The appointments were conveyed in a press release signed by Olusegun Adekunle, permanent secretary (general Services Office), Office of the secretary to the federal government which was made available to Realnews on ThursdaJuly 19.

President Buhari enjoined the new appointees to use their expertise and varied experiences to reposition and reinvigorate the agencies. He charged them to discharge their duties with utmost rectitude and sensitivity to Government’s commitment to enhancing mining and steel sector as a major driver of the Administration’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan.
