Omar Alieu Touray, the President of the ECOWAS Commission held a meeting with Ahmed Attaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Algeria on the margins of the 78th UN General Assembly.
Discussion focused on security challenges in the Sahel region, notably in Niger as well as ways to strengthen cooperation between Algeria and ECOWAS. Both parties expressed the need to meet again in the near future to continue discussion on areas of common interest.
