President Tinubu appoints 3 commissioners for NUPRC, redeploys 1

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu on Tuesday approved the appointment of three new Executive Commissioners at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission pending their confirmation by the Senate.

They are Mr Bashir Indabawa, (Northwest), Executive Commissioner, Exploration and Acreage Management; Mr Enorense Amadasun (South-South); Executive Commissioner, Development and Production and Mr Babajide Fasina (Southwest), Executive Commissioner, Economic Regulation and Strategic Planning.

The president also approved the redeployment of Dr Kelechi Ofoegbu (Southeast), Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services and Administration.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, made the disclosure in a statement he issued on Tuesday in Abuja.

Ngelale explained that the step aimed at establishing a regulatory framework and culture that comprehensively disincentives errant behaviour and incentivises diligence and rules-based business practice across the industry. (NAN)
