Presidential Tribunal fixes May 15 for pre-hearing session on Atiku’s petition

THE Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday fixed May 15 for a pre-hearing session on the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
There are a total of four petitions filed to challenge the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress in the February 23 poll.
The tribunal led by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, after conducting its inaugural sitting on Wednesday, went on to call each case one after the other.
So far two petitions filed by the Hope Democratic Party and its candidate, Ambrose Awuru as well as the PDP and Atiku have been called and adjourned for pre-hearing session.
While HDP’s petition was adjourned till May 14, the PDP’s was fixed for May 15.
Pending interlocutory applications are to be heard at the next sittings. – Punch
