HEAD teachers of primary schools in Anambra should re-dedicate themselves to their duties, in order to reciprocate Governor Willie Obiano’s education friendly-posture, a top government functionary says.
Nnaemeka Olisa, the chairman Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, made the appeal during an end of the year party.
Olisa enjoined the head teachers to be fair to all teachers under them with a view to tapping from their intellectual output.
According to Samuel Muozoba, the ASUBEB boss, represented by a member of ASUBEB, they should shun negative acts such as collection of unapproved levies from school pupils.
“You should not engage in sale of textbooks as this will attract negative sanctions.’’
He urged them to guard jealously, the school’s property in their possession and also used the forum to thank them for their supportive roles in ensuring the re-election of Obiano for a second term.
In a remark, Chinenye Idigo, the senior special assistant to the governor on Quality Assurance, urged the teachers to sustain their support to the governor, especially in their prayers.
Chris Achukwu, the state chairman of the primary schools head teachers in the state, commended Obiano for his education friendliness and prompt payment of their salaries.
