Principals’ Cup: Girls inclusion to boost football development in FCT — Talle

MUSA Talle, FCT Football Association (FA) Chairman, says the inclusion of girls in the Principals’ Cup was to further deepen the territory’s commitment to football development among teenagers.

Talle told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja that making football a household game among post-primary schools teenagers was the goal of football body.

He said that they would continue to play a pivotal role not only in promotion of football in the FCT but producing players that would represent Nigeria in football events.

“We are interested in bringing out the best football players for Nigeria in both the female and male categories.

“That is the primary reason for introducing Principals’ Cup in the first place before including girls’ secondary schools,’’ Talle said.

The FCT FA boss promised to complement the efforts of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in giving football its rightful place in Nigeria.

Principals’ Cup is football competition for secondary schools in FCT is aimed at exploring young and talented players. (NAN)
