MAJ.-Gen. Kelvin Aligbe, Commander, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC), has charged the candidates for the 2025 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE), to be dedicated and shun malpractices.
A statement by TRADOC spokesman, Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, on Monday, said that Aligbe gave the charge while addressing the candidates at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, the venue for the exercise.
Aligbe, who is the Nigerian Army Examination President, urged the candidates to be focused and make a solid foundation for their career progression.
He congratulated them for attaining the watershed moment in their chosen military career by selecting them to participate in the promotion examination.
The commander also reiterated zero tolerance to malpractice in all army examinations, and advised the candidates to use the opportunity to further consolidation of their chosen career.
He urged them to be disciplined, courageous and exemplary which, according to him, are the virtues that formed the core values of the Nigerian army.
Aligbe also reminded the candidates that they were on a crucial assignment, adding that their conduct during the examinations could make or mar their career.
“The 2025 LCPPE is designed to improve your knowledge of the military profession, assist the Nigerian Army in your career planning, and test your physical fitness.
“It is also designed to stimulate a healthy competitive spirit amongst you, and assess your ability in command amongst others,” he said.
The examination president assured the candidates of the determination of the panellists to carry out a meticulous and painstaking assessment of their performance and accurate recording of their marks.
In his remarks, the Chief Host and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Maj.-Gen. Mayirenso Saraso, urged the candidates to put in their best, maintain decorum and discipline so as to come out successful in the examination.
Saraso thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), LT.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, for the opportunity to host the all-important examination within the division’s area of responsibility.
He also thanked the Commander TRADOC for recommending 1 Division to host the 2025 LCPPE examination.
He also drew the attention of the panellists and candidates to the need for them to be individually and collectively security conscious while in Kaduna. (NAN)
