Proper hydration, clean water essential for healthy living - QNET
Health
QNET, a lifestyle and wellness company, on Tuesday called for proper hydration and drinking of clean water among Nigerians to maintain healthy living.
The company said this in a statement signed by Paul McHenry, the Chief Marketing Officer of QNET.
McHenry said that the quality of water being consumed was vital, noting that inappropriately managed water and sanitation services exposed individuals to health risks.
McHenry said adequate hydration was not just about quenching thirst, but a cornerstone of health.
He said that according to studies, staying well-hydrated aids weight loss by enhancing satiety, boosting metabolism, and helping in reducing water retention.
“More than just aiding weight management, proper hydration is essential for maintaining energy levels, improving physical performance and sharpening cognitive functions.
“According to the World Health Organization, contaminated water and poor sanitation are linked to transmission of diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid and polio.
“Inadequate or inappropriately managed water and sanitation services expose individuals to preventable health risks.
“Clean, safe water is therefore not just a luxury, but a necessity, ” McHenry said.
He said that in the realm of water purification, technologies like the HomePure Viva Water Ioniser and Filter had emerged.
According to him, the devices feature a multi-stage filtration system and smart technology to reduce bacteria and viruses in water.
It also includes a nine-plate water ionizer with platinum-coated titanium electrodes, adjusting water pH for various health benefits.
“These benefits range from immune support to improved mental function and better taste.
“Also Alkaline water, with its higher pH level, is known for its potential health benefits, including protecting cells from oxidative damage, and aiding in detoxification.
“The ionized water, rich in negatively charged hydroxide ions, is believed to enhance absorption, thereby improving hydration and gastrointestinal health, ” he said.
He explained that water was more than just a basic necessity, but the foundation of one’s health and well-being.
McHenry said in today’s world, where water quality could be compromised, it was vital to ensure that what one consumed was not only safe but beneficial to the body.
“Our goal at QNET is to provide a solution that not only purifies water but also enhances its health properties, supporting individuals in their journey towards better health and fulfilment of their personal goals.
“As we navigate the new year, understanding the role of hydration in our daily lives is key, ” he said. (NAN)
