Proton to hold Gas Agreement Ceremony April 27

PROTON Energy Ltd. Gas Agreement Ceremony will hold in Abuja on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
According to a letter of notification signed by Oti Ikomi, Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, Proton Energy and addressed to Realnews Magazine, the ceremony will commemorate the Gas Sale and Aggregation Agreement, GSAA, between Proton Energy Limited, and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd., NNPC, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited, SPDC, TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited, Total, Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited, NAOC, and Gas Aggregation Company Nigeria Limited, GACN, for the supply of natural gas to the 150MW power generation plant being developed by Proton Energy in Sapele, Delta State.
The letter stated that construction work will start by Q4 of 2023 in this advanced IPP project with FDI in excess of $250m and contributing to 10,000 direct and indirect jobs (during construction) and uplifting the region and the nation.
“Additionally, the project will be one of the first projects in Nigeria to utilize a more efficient Combined Cycle Gas Turbine configuration, CCGT, and cutting-edge carbon reduction technologies. This will enable the project to reduce its carbon footprint and meet the most stringent emissions standards for gas to power projects.
“The project additionally allows an option for the Siemens supplied turbines to use Hydrogen in future,” it said.
Other members of Proton Energy Ltd are Ike Osakwe, Chairman, Otimeyin Ikomi, Chief Executive, Tunde Akerele, Uche Okoli, and Abiodun Ikomi, Non Executive member.
