THE People’s Redemption Party (PRP) on Sunday urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts in addressing security challenges in the country.

The party’s  National Chairman, Prof. Sule Bello, gave the advice in Abuja, while briefing newsmen on the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting.

Bello said that the NWC met, reviewed situations in the party, the country, the challenges and ways forward.

According to him,  the party is worried over the level of insecurity in various parts of the country including rural areas, that involved banditry, killings, and kidnapping.

The chairman urged the government to do more in protecting the lives and property in the country.

He advised persons in positions of leadership to be committed to good governance, social justice, rule of law, respect for the constitution, and the wellbeing of the citizens.

He said that most developed countries gain the trust of the people because of the enforcement of the law and ensuring justice.

”What we are asking for is to enforce the law for the protection of the country.

”We are asking that corrupt people be punished. We are asking for social justice in the name of education, good roads, hospitals, and availability of services to our people,” he stated.

Bello also urged people in positions of authority to be honest, saying honest leadership was key in the development of any nation.

He added that honest leadership might not be the only critical requirement, but that dishonest leadership would constitute a barrier to progress and development.

”We need honest leadership. We need leadership with vision.

”We need to make sacrifices for our country. We need to focus on building our nation. Once you have these you are on course,” he said.

He added that the party leadership had resolved to work hard and together,  ensure that the PRP promote the interest of Nigerians and as well come to power in 2023.

According to him, to achieve this, the NWC had set up various committees, including the Convention Committee, to lead the party to its national convention soon.

He noted that the NWC had also set up a Membership Registration Committee, for the registration of the party members at the ward levels, in accordance with the party’s constitution and by-laws.

Bello described the PRP as a party of nationalists, committed to social justice, ideology and important principles relevant for the country’s development.

He urged Nigerians to join the PRP and work with the party, for the development of the country. (NAN)
