Maidoki said on Sunday in Sokoto that the 60 children will begin their primary school education on Monday.

According to him, the children are among 106 orphans being taken care of by the foundation.

He told mothers and guardians of the orphans that the intervention was to ensure better future for the children.

“The allowances paid to the orphans account by individuals through the Qatar foundation are to take care of their needs and ensure a better future for them.

“So, Alhamdulillah today 60 are taken to school, while others that are underage will continue to remain with their mothers, until they reach appropriate school age,” he said.

Maidoki assured that the children would be in safe hands while in school.

He added that the guardians would be supported with part of the money send to the orphans’ accounts, to engage in income generating ventures of their choice.

Maidoki expressed the gratitude of the state government to the foundation for its support to vulnerable families in the state.

He also appreciated the decision of the Qatar Charity Foundation to support the livelyhood of 1,000 orphans in the state.

He prayed for peaceful coexistence in Sokoto state and the country at large.
