Reconciliation drive bolsters APC in Zamfara, says Chairman

APC reconciliation drive in Zamfara has yielded positive results as it promotes the party’s strength in the state, the APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani has said.

Danfulani stated in Gusau on Monday at a special lunch reception to honour APC women supporters in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was organized by a political support group in the state “Matawalle/Shehi Amalgamated Mobilisation Group’’, (MASAMOG).

The group, under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Danmalikin-Gidangoga, a former commissioner for information, was formed to cement APC supporters in the state following the reconciliation drive in the party.

The APC Chairman, represented at the event by the Secretary of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Dangaladima said the party was becoming stronger and united as a result of reconciliation between Gov. Bello Matawalle and former Gov. Abdul’aziz Yari.

Danfulani said that all party stakeholders, including former governors and deputies, National and State Assembly members were now in APC.

He urged APC members and stakeholders in the state to.emulate the leaders and remained united and committed towards the party’s victory in the 2023 General Elections.

In her remarks, the wife of Matawalle, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle, commended the group for building peace and unity in the party.

Represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Hajiya Rahamu Hassan-Nasiha, she pledged to continue to mobilise women’s support for APC at all levels.

She promised to continue to initiate programmes under her office to promote the future of women in the state.

Also speaking, the Coordinator of the group, Danmalikin-Gidangoga said the event was organised in recognition of women’s contributions towards development of APC in the state.

“Women played an important role in politics as they gave massive votes to political parties during elections.

“That is why the APC has special consideration for women”, he added.

Earlier in a welcome address, the state APC Women Leader, Hajiya Aisha Waziri, commended the group and all APC stakeholders in the state for giving special consideration and an honour to women.

According to her, women deserved such recognition considering their roles in achieving a political victory.
