ABUBAKAR Dzukogi, the Rector, Federal Polytechnic Bida, on Wednesday, advised Nigerian students to concentrate on their studies and shun acts that would affect their academic programmes.
He gave the advice in interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna.
He said it was time Nigerian students redefined their values for optimal performance.
Dzukogi cautioned students against buying expensive cell phones, indecent dressing and living unbridled lives.
He added that “we need to have a value system based on hope for our future and the nation.”
He explained that the future of the Nigerian society depended largely on the ability of young people to pursue their goals and aspirations.
He said Federal Polytechnic Bida had taken measures to provide conducive atmosphere for learning.
“We always tell our students that the primary aim of being in school is to acquire knowledge: you should balance your spiritual life with academic goals for fulfilling life.” (NAN)
