MR Dennis Idahosa, APC Ovia Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives has lauded
his constituent for his reelection in Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.

He thanked the people in a statement he issued on Monday in Benin after he was declared winner of the election.

He attributed his reelection to the constituent’s resolve to continue with the progressive governance they enjoyed in the past three years.

Idahosa polled 19,851 votes to defeat Ms Omosede Igbinedion of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Dr Osayuki Asemota of Labour Party (LP) who scored18,396 and 17,608 respectively.

The lawmaker, Chairman of the House Committee on Legislative Compliance, said he was humbled with the people’s action and for voting for him again.

According to him, the victory is for the people as they all worked to see it happen.

“I am especially humbled with the role we all played; we all stood and defended our votes.”

He appealed for the peoples’ continuous support and prayers, saying “the job is not done yet, even though victory has been achieved. The ultimate victory lies in our resolve to continue with the development Ovia has witnessed in the last three years.

“Our children need more classrooms for effective learning, many of our communities need water, electricity, there is need for more empowerment for our youths and women.

“We need to continue in this line of duty that we have all signed for a better Ovia and I want to charge us all to continually support ourselves for the ultimate aim of a better Ovia.”
