THE lawmaker representing Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ismail Tijani, on Sunday, distributed some items to his constituents to empower them.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the items were: tractors, freezers, wheelchairs, grinding machines, block molds and popcorn machines.

NAN also reports that the programme was held at the playing field of St. Cyprian’s Primary School, Offa in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara.

The items, which also included sprayers and different types of machines for farm produce processing, were shared across all the wards that make up the constituency.

Tijani said that the empowerment programme was targeted at farmers, traders, youths and artisans to boost their businesses, particularly at this period of economic hardship.

The lawmaker said that he felt the pains of his people and always desired the best for them, hence the empowerment programme to ensure their development.

NAN reports that the beneficiaries were full of gratitude to God for blessing them with such a ‘loving and caring’ representative.

The beneficiaries, who described the equipment as timely, promised to make judicious use of them to expand the economic prosperity of the constituency.

Present at the occasion were some All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts in the state, including Alhaji Folaranmi Aro, the party State Publicity Secretary. (NAN)
