Rep empowers constituents with vehicles, livestock in Sokoto

DR Balarabe Shehu-Kakale, a member of the House of Representatives (PDP-Sokoto) said he has empowered his unemployed constituents with vehicles, livestock and other items.

Shehu-Kakale, who represents Dange Shuni-Bodinga-Tureta Federal Constituency disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said that the largesse was given to the beneficiaries under his special empowerment Programme of Skills and Innovation Talent hunt tagged:”Ko Wa Iya Allo, Nai Ya Wanke’.

According to him, he gave out nine cars and 32 motorcycles to the beneficiaries who were mainly youth, women and the physically-challenged.

Shehu-Kakale said that he also doled out 40 sewing machines and special breed livestock like cows, sheep and goats, among others.

“This gesture is aimed at alleviating the suffering of the beneficiaries, reducing unemployment, poverty and hunger among my constituents.

“This gesture cannot come at a better time than now when people globally are facing serious socio economic hardships,”Shehu-Kakale said.

The lawmaker also said that he has empowered hundreds of other constituents under another programme tagged “Your Rights and Entitlements are always guaranteed: “In Da Naka Ba ka Rasawa”.

Shehu-Kakale said that under the programme, he distributed hundreds of bags of rice, millet, beans and sorghum, among others.

He added that the gesture was aimed at bolstering food security in the three local governments that make up the constituency.

“Food is one of the most basic human needs and providing it to the people makes them food secure and comfortable,” Shehu-Kakale said.(NAN)
