Reps Ukodhiko calls for single unified Isoko youth body

MEMBER representing Isoko Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Jonathan Ukodhiko, on Wednesday, called for a single, unified body of youths of Isoko ethnic nationality.

Receiving the new executive members of the Isoko National Youth Assembly led by the president, Comrade Eniwake Orogun, Ukodhiko said, the call became necessary in order to foster unity and for better advocacy of empowerment and development.

The House of Representatives member stated, “The interests of the Isoko ethnic nationality is paramount, and we must be united in the cause of the development of Isoko.

“I have spoken severally to the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori about the unity of Isoko. And he is fully in support. I believe soon, we will have a single, unified body of the Isoko youths.

“So, we must look on how we can bring Isoko together as I strongly believe it is through unity of purpose we can change the old narratives.

“Yes, we must have a new orientation of fighting for the common interest of our tribe by doing everything possible to promote, protect and project our people.”

Ukodhiko who is the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology, earlier in his remark, congratulated the newly elected executive members of INYA on their victories at the polls, and assured of his support.

“The Isoko National Youth Association, INYA is well enlightened. I will support the foremost body to realize the dividends of democracy for the youths of Isoko-nation.

“Let me reiterate once again, I’m at the House of Representatives for the Isoko people as I am elected to represent every Isoko sons and daughters including those who didn’t support and vote for me at the general elections.

“I’m focused on empowering our people. Our Constituency project is about the training and empowerment of our people, the youths inclusive, to be self-reliant and add value to the economy.

“I must charge everyone here to continue to preach the unity of Isoko. Let us interface and be more involved in constructive engagement. Let’s channel our energies to productive ventures.

“I must express my confidence in the leadership of Eniwake Orogun as I encourage members to be steadfast and believe in their leaders. I’ll continue to consult the body of the youths in my legislative engagement “ Ukodhiko added.

In his remark, the President, Isoko National Youth Assembly, Comrade Eniwake said the familiarization visit was to introduce the new Exco members and to seek for support of the Isoko federal lawmaker.

He commended Hon Ukodhiko for his leadership and quality representation in the last six months through the laudable bills, motions and the empowerment programmes he has initiated and done.

Comrade Orogun assured Hon Ukodhiko of the grassroot support of the youths of Isoko saying that, the new executive body of INYA is committed towards a stronger advocacy and, one body and unified voice of Isoko youths.
