FORMER Vice President and Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, Atiku Abubakar has stated that the agitations for secession would not have arisen if the country had shown sincere readiness to address the underlying problems that feed the agitations by separatist forces around the country.
The former Vice President however described as patriotic, the convergence of positions around restructuring by leaders and stakeholders from diverse regions of the country noting that it confirms that he (Atiku Abubakar) was not just a lone voice in the wilderness in the inevitability of restructuring of Nigeria for the good of all.
In a statement in Abuja on Tuesday by his Media Office, Atiku further commended the resolution of the APC Progressive Governors Forum which called for restructuring and true federalism, saying that the issue transcended religion and ethnicity.
According to the Waziri Adamawa, the restructuring debate transcended the ambition of any single politician in Nigeria, and that any attempt to ignore the agitations could make a bad situation more complicated.
He explained that avoiding a problem won’t solve that problem, adding that with so much hate, distrust, suspicions and fears in the country, political leaders shouldn’t be afraid to confront the challenge.
According to him: “our current federal structure should be freely discussed by allowing the federating units voice their grievances with a view to finding workable solutions that protects the rights and interests of all.
He added that “the country could not afford to allow bottled up frustrations of the people to explode into violence, which threatens not only innocent lives, but also harms the country’s economic assets”.
Atiku therefore, praised the Progressive APC Governors and other leaders and groups for their courage to confront the country’s most urgent national challenge, adding that separatist agitations are dangerously threatening the country’s unity and indivisibility. To his mind, he says no country could afford to take these threats lightly. – Leadership

Atiku Abubakar , Turaki Adamawa has always demostrated that he is a man of the people. One of the few men in this country that is so Rich and deemed it very necessary to set up business empires with a lot of Nigerians gainfully employed both within and outside the country.
One of the few Nigerians if not the only Nigerian that is a complete WAZOBIA IN MARRIAGE. Turaki Adamawa is married to a Yoruba woman-Titi Abubakar, married to an Igbo woman-Jennifer Atiku. Married to a Calabar woman and lastly but not the least to an Hausa Fulani woman. Can you beat that record?
Atiku Abubakar was the arrow Head that stopped Obasanjo from achieving his third Term agenda. He stopped the evil quest for elongation simply because of the love he has for the peace and progress of this country.
His call for Restructure and Resource Control is borne out of a genuine desire for Nigerians to live and let live. Being an in-law to virtually all the Zones in the country, he can never be a happy man to see the country break into pieces because of injustice. That is why he is seriously worried for what Nigerians are presently passing through in the hands of the APC government.
So let all Nigerians support him for 2019 irrespective of any Party so that there will be a sense of belonging for all especially for those agitating for Biafra.
