CHAIRMAN of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Mr Babatunde Olaniyan, has urged the players to revive their winning ways from Wednesday’s encounter against visiting Plateau United of Jos.
This is contained in a statement issued by the club’s Media Officer, Tosin Omojola, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the club had recently recorded poor performances in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches.
Olaniyan, while addressing the players at their camp, stressed the need for them to revive their winning ways from the NPFL Match day 11 against Plateau United in Ibadan.
The 3SC helmsman stressed the importance of victory in the midweek game to the players, adding that it was time for the club to start making its supporters happy.
“We are here to further demonstrate our love and belief in you guys. Presently, we know we are not in the position we should be after our superlative performance during the pre-season tournament in Lagos.
“I want to challenge you to do your best and start getting the much-needed result as from tomorrow (Wednesday).
“You must strive to justify the efforts of your coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, who is one of the best coaches in the country,” he said.
Olaniyan reiterated the management’s readiness to prioritise the welfare of the players, urging them to shun any form of distractions and stay focused.
“We have a governor who has the love of the club at heart, always taking the issue of the club with utmost importance. Only a good result will make him and our supporters happy,” he said.
Reacting on behalf of the players, Skipper of the team, Omololu Waheed, thanked the chairman and management for believing in them, assuring that they would make them proud at the end of the season.
NAN reports that the 3SC chairman was accompanied by the acting General Manager, Dimeji Lawal, and the Director of Administration and Supply, Alhaji Rahman Olapade. (NAN)
