The Anambra State government has mobilised contractors with not less than N10 billion to asphalt the various road projects across the state before the rainy season.
Governor Willie Obiano said this when he inspected road projects leading to Amansea-Unizik Road, Awka.
The governor urged all the contractors handling road projects in the state to speed up construction, as there would be strict monitoring to ensure prompt delivery.
Obiano directed Obi Nwankwo, the commissioner for Utility, to facilitate the installation of street lights, so as to check in security and molestation.
Marcel Ifejiofor, the commissioner for Works, assured that all ongoing road construction in the state must be delivered according to specification.
He noted that the contractor handling Unizik road would need to deploy professional expertise because of the importance of the road to students and the community.
