Road Safety Officers’ Wives donate sanitary materials to accident victims

THE Road Safety Officers’ Wives Association (ROSOWA), Katsina State chapter, has donated sanitary materials to victims of road traffic crashes at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.
The ROSOWA Chairperson, Hajiya Jamila Ibrahim-Dangaskiya, who led members of the association to the facility on Saturday in Katsina, said that the visit was part of activities marking this year’s World Remembrance Day for Road Crash Victims.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that items donated included; detergents, soaps, tissue papers, toilet cleaners and bottle water, among others.
NAN also reports that the theme of this year’s day is: “That Day; Remember, Support, and Act”.
Going round the Accident and Emergency (A&E) and Orthopaedic Wards alongside ROSOWA members, Ibrahim-Dangaskiya symphatised with the victims currently receiving medical attention at the facility
She called on individuals and groups to join hands with the FRSC in supporting victims of road crashes, observing that some have been in hospitals for long.
Ibrahim-Dangaskiya further called on motorists to always obey traffic rules and regulations while on wheels for their own safety and safety of their passengers.
“Remember that life has no duplicate, avoid reckless driving, speeding, overloading of goods and passengers, these are major contributors to accidents, thereby claiming many lives,” she said.
Receiving the ROSOWA members, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr Bello Suleiman, represented by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Denis Manuwa, conducted the visitors round the A and E as well as Orthopaedic wards.
He commended the association for the gesture and assured judicious distribution to the patients.
The CMD urged other associations and wealthy individuals to emulate ROSOWA by extending support to accident victims. (NAN)
