AHEAD of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon on Feb. 8, 2020, some registered runners had begun collection of their kits in preparation for the competition.

A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who was at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere on Monday, reports that young men and women were seen collecting kits with their numbers, while others were collecting registration forms.

Olukayode Thomas, Lagos City Marathon Head of Communications and Media, told NAN that collection of kits would last till Feb. 6.

Thomas said that many foreigners, particularly from China, Australia, Peru and America, had indicated interest in the marathon.

He urged runners who have registered for either the full marathon or the 10km fun run to pick up their running kits at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The media head also urged those that have not registered for the 2020 race to do so as officials of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon would gladly register interested runners.

“The 2020 Marathon Expo will be fun. Apart from intending runners picking up their kits, it will be an entertaining and fun place to be,” he said.

Meanwhile, some of the runners who collected their kits were seen at the main bowl of the Teslim Balogun Stadium training for the event.

One of the runners who collected his kits, Raphael Isamo, said he was participating in the marathon to win as he had participated in the last edition.

For Sanwotemitope Maxell who participated in the 2019 marathon, said he was running for fun. (NAN)
