Safety on the road, our priority says Transport Commissioner

THE Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Mrs Patricia Igwebuike has restated the resolve of the Ministry to ensure safety on the roads across the state.

Mrs Igwebuike who said this while speaking with newsmen in Awka, urged Ndi Anambra to observe traffic laws and regulations.

The Commissioner explained that motorists should avoid indiscriminate loading and offloading of vehicles on unauthorised sections of the roads and highways.

"Your safety on the road remains our priority and we have stated clearly that people should abstain from trading on the roads and other similar activities that could cause traffic congestion on our roads.

"Owners of abandoned, broken down vehicles and other wreckages on our roads are directed to remove them immediately in order to ensure safety of road users."

The Commissioner enjoined motorists to avoid drinking while driving even as she wished Ndi Anambra happy Easter celebration.
