Salem University warns candidates against presenting fake results

PROF. Alewo Johnson-Akubo, Vice Chancellor, Salem University in Lokoja, has warned candidates against presenting fake results during the ongoing 2024/2025 academic session screening.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the ongoing screening exercise of the university began on Aug. 12.

The vice chancellor, told newsmen on Tuesday in Lokoja:”the  university is targeting brilliance in the screening of candidates for admission into undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

“As a  remarkable institution, we are targeting brilliance and competency during the screening as part of our drive.

“This is aimed at producing global/leaders and change agents that will create impact across the world.”

Johnson-Akubo said, “there is no room for compromise when it comes to admission of undergraduate and post graduate students into various courses being run by our six colleges.”

The colleges, he said, included the College of Law, College of Humanities, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, and College of Education.

Others, according to him, are College of Information and Communication Technology and College of Management and Social Sciences as well as the College of Graduate Studies and the Pre-Varsity school.

The vice chancellor said that seven new programmes were ready for verification by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

According to him, the programmes includes Anatomy, physiology, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health in the College of Basic Health and Allied Sciences, Cybersecurity and Data Science in the College of Information and Communications Technology.

“Salem University is aimed at producing graduates who are mentally alert, Spiritually alive and intellectually developed to change their world positively.

“Our academic programmes are fully accredited by NUC and carefully designed to meet industry and professional needs and the challenges of job placements in the labour market.

“Earning a degree at Salem university is a better way to kick start your professional and career journey in life without hassles.

“We have provided modern and reasonable recreational and standard hostel facilities which help to make learning fun and rewarding experience, ” he said. (NAN)
