Sales Rep in court for allegedly stealing employer’s N2.8m

A Saleswoman, Ifeoma Ugwumba, on Monday appeared before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N2.8 million sales proceeds belonging to her employer.
Ugwumba, who was charged on a count of theft, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Ben Ekundayo, told the court that the defendant committed the offense in Jan. 26, at 6:00 p.m. at 32, Balogun Market, Lagos Island.
He said that the defendant, a sales representative at a wholesale cloth store, stole the sum of N2.8 million, proceeds from the day’s sales, belonging to her employer, one Mr Francis Obiakor.
Ekundayo said that the offense Contravened Section 287(7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate Mr A.A. Paul granted the two defendants N100, 00 bail with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until March 10 for hearing.
