Sales representative docked for alleged criminal breach of trust

A sales representative, Olagoke Abir, was on Wednesday, docked in a Magistrates’ Court, Kubwa, Abuja, for alleged criminal breach of trust.
The police charged the defendant with criminal breach of trust and theft by servant.
The prosecuting counsel, John Okpa told the court that the defendant was employed at Canon International Limited attached to Foretec Investment Limited, Wuse shopping complex, Zone 3, Abuja in May 2022.
Okpa alleged that the defendant was caught on CCTV camera by the manager of the said office, Mr Sylvester Amadi on June 14, 2023.
The prosecution said that Amadi alleged that items valued N7.7 million were missing in the office since the defendant was employed.
He said that two USD hard drives valued at N70, 000 were stolen, adding that the defendant was arrested and interrogated by the police.
Amadi said that contravened sections 312 and 286 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mr Oyepeju Mustapha admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties resident within the court’s jurisdiction.
Mustapha ordered that the sureties must have sustainable means of livelihood and their addresses must be verified by the court’s registrar.
She adjourned the matter until Aug.8, for hearing.(NAN)
