Salesman docked over alleged stealing of goods worth N12m

A 20-year-old salesman, Young Chukwuemeka, was on Tuesday arraigned before the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in  Lagos State, for allegedly stealing goods valued N12million  from SE BRASS Co. Ltd.

Chukwuemeka is facing a trial on a charge of stealing. The prosecutor, ASP. Akpan Nkem, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between Feb.15 and June 29, at No. 39 , Okuno St., in  Ketu, Ijanikin area of Lagos State.

The prosecutor said that the defendant stole goods valued N12million, the property of SE BRASS Co. Ltd., when he was a  member of the staff of the company.

“The offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” the prosecutor said.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendant, bail in the sum of N1million, with two sureties in like sum.

The chief magistrate adjourned the case until Sept. 21, for hearing. (NAN)
