THE Kwara Government has postponed the State Entrance Examination for Public Junior and Senior Secondary Schools that was slated from Saturday, June 16 to Saturday, June 23.
Hajiya Bilikis Oniyangi, the Kwara Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development disclosed this in Ilorin on Tuesday.
She explained that due to the Sallah celebration, the exams has to be shifted, adding that the state joint Mock Exam for the SS2 students has also been shifted and will commence from Monday, June 25 to Friday, June 29, 2018.
She said that times and venue for the exams remain the same, while urging all the principals of public schools to take note and ensure submission of schedules of entry to Exams Department immediately.
Oniyangi also said the government has declared Wednesday, June 13 and Thursday, June 14, 2018 as mid-term break for both public and private schools below tertiary level in the state.
According to her, the declaration of mid-term break for third term academic session is in line with the 2017/2018 academic school calendar.
The commissioner, however, warned all the public and private schools to strictly adhere to it in order to avoid sanctions.
Oniyangi wishes all the staff, students and other stakeholders in education happy and stress free holiday.
