Saraki, 40 Senators Honour Melaye’s Sister Wedding

AIYETORO-GBEDE in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, was on Saturday, March 26, shut down by human and vehicular traffic when Bukola Saraki, Senate president, led more than 40 senators to grace the wedding between former Elizabeth Folashade Melaye and Wale Dare, her husband.

No fewer than 15 members of the House of Representatives and prominent Nigerians across ethnic and religious divides also attended the event, which brought together members of the eighth National Assembly from both the All Progressives Congress, APC and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Although Saraki could not attend the traditional engagement held earlier on Saturday, March 26, the Apostolic Church, Ilu-Afon, where the church wedding was conducted was filled with friends and political allies of Dino Melaye, chairman, Senate committee on the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and emerging godfather of Kogi State politics.

Apart from Saraki, others among the over 40 Senator include senators Abiodun Olujinmi, PDP, Ekiti State; Ali Ndume, Senate leader, and Andy Uba, PDP, Anambra State.
