A group, Advocacy Network of Nigeria (ANN), has urged Nigerians to embrace family planning in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Convener of the group, Salaudeen Buhari, made the plea on Wednesday in Ibadan at a media briefing.

Buhari is also the Imam of Ajimotokan Busari Central Mosque at Feranjesu area of Ibadan.

” Sustainable Development Goals are not achievable without family planning as a well planned family is the  panacea to a quality life.

” Government should also support family planning and we need to recruit more health workers in our health centres,’’ he said.

Buhari, who said family planning promotes a comfortable lifestyle, urged women to create three years interval between each child to improve their health.

In her remarks, Mrs Adekiitan Adeagbo, the Secretary of Advocacy Network of Nigeria, an NGO, said religious leaders and traditional rulers should educate their constituencies on SDGs. (NAN)
