Searching for my Homey.

JUST in a neighborhood
All the people in good mood
I hugged laughter
Trying not to be dissed
A lady who hit the road
The same lady hit the spot
I guessed as she approached
She was my homey
With joy to embrace
She backed out and left the place
Then l saw a lady like hillbilly
Though she didn’t look silly
But happy she came from her crib
But she was better than high roller
I determined to say high five
She recoiled and dissed me
The search continued for my homey
As a bees to honey
Butterfly to a nectar
I stopped my mind from going haywire
Just searching, not having a screw loose
But focusing on succeeding
Though not claiming hard as nail
But even with speed of a snail
I was optimistic
Because l had gut to hang out
Waiting patiently
Thinking silently
Just like a gumshoe
Lonely but felt like grubbing a cigarette
Which l was not sure was better than grass
But l remembered, l was a goody two shoes
Thinking about failure ,l went off the deep end
But l couldn’t be glued to one place
So I continued trudging on
Suddenly ,l shouted out with joy
Seeing my homey coming
Yes!l met my homey
Because l never lost hope
Don’t lose hope!
