Security guard docked for alleged N53, 000 theft

ABUJA, April 6, 2018 (NAN) The Police on Friday arraigned a 27-year-old security guard, Eze Victor, in a Kubwa Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for alleged N53,000 theft.
The defendant was docked on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy and theft, offences he denied committing.
The prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun, told the court that one Abdulraman Joseph, reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station on March 20.
He said that the defendant conspired with a man, now at large, and broke into the complainant’s office through the ceiling and stole N53, 000.
He said the offences contravened Sections 97 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Mohammed Marafa, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N60, 000 with one surety in like sum, who must resident within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the case until May 14 for hearing.
