THREE security men on Tuesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly damaging and stealing vehicle parts valued N710,000.

The defendants, Sunday Elijah, 23, Babatunde Jayesimi, 26 and Micheal Ogini, 30, are security men who live at Opebi, Ikeja.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the trio are facing charges bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offences were committed in November 2022 at 3, Osilaja St., Opebi, Ikeja.

Akeem said that the security men vandalised two Range Rover vehicles parked in their workshop and stole some parts valued N710,000.

The prosecutor alleged that the defendants stole alternators, nozzles and kick starters.

According to him, the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O Osunsanmi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300,000 each with two sureties in like sum.

Osunsanmi adjourned the case until Feb. 2 for mention. (NAN)
