SUSPECTED Boko Haram terrorists on Wednesday, August 2, attacked Miltho village in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing seven people in the early hours of the day.

The insurgents, who raided the village from the eastern flank of Sambisa Forest, also injured 10 villagers, before fleeing with food items taken from the village.

“They stormed our village on motorbikes and immediately opened fire on the people and behead others with knives,” Papka Madu, a member of vigilante said, adding:“As at the last count, seven people were killed while about 10 others were injured and were rushed to a clinic at Gulak.”

“Despite the attacks, some of our villagers were able to flee into nearby bushes and hills.” According to him, the villagers were shot to death while they were sleeping.

Muhammad Yusuf, chairman of Madagali Local Government Area, confirmed the death of seven people but said the total figure was uncertain.

“You know I travelled to Yola and my deputy just confirmed to me that seven people were killed as houses and shops (were) burnt by suspected insurgents,” he said.
