SEN. Binta Masi (APC-Adamawa North) on Wednesday in Mubi, distributed 250 sewing and 250 grinding machines to some youth in her constituency.
Presenting the items to beneficiaries at a ceremony, Masi said the gesture was part of efforts to empower youth in areas affected by insurgency.
Represented by her Senior Legislative Aide, Alhaji Habu Jingi, Masi said the package was also to complement efforts of government in ensuring that normal business activities resumed in the area.
She urged the beneficiaries not to sell the facilities but rather make the best use of them.
The senator also urged youth in the area to key into the various empowerment programmes of government as they strive to pick up their lives, adding that the APC-led Federal and State governments have special consideration in areas of empowerment for returnees in areas affected by insurgency.
In their respective responses on behalf of beneficiaries,Amos Dona and Sumaiya Mohammed thanked the senator for the gesture, which they said was timely.
They promised to make the best use of the facilities to enhance their living condition.
