Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah: We are in a mourning mood, says Rep Nnabuife

MS Chinwe Nnabuife, the member representing Orumba North/South Federal Constituency, has confirmed the passage of Sen. Ifeanyi Uba saying that the people are in a mourning mood.
Nnabuife confirmed the death in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Awka.
Nnabuife, who spoke through her media aide, Ms Anuli Ezeobi, said that the sad news was received with mixed feelings.
According to her, death is unavoidable and that Uba’s death is not such that people should celebrate but calls for sober reflection.
Ezeobi prayed God to grant his immediate family, Anambra South Senatorial District, the state government and Nigeria at large the grace to bear the loss.
Dr Chris Eluemunoh, a former State Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Anambra, said that the breaking news of Sen.Ifeanyi Uba’s death was a “huge shock”.
Eluemunoh said that Ubah, who is representing Anambra South Senatorial District, in the upper Chambers had introduced representation by a difference when compared with past representatives.
He described his death as a huge loss especially in area of philanthropy and state governance where he sought to bring in a disruptive leadership skills.
Mazi Christian Beluchukwu, a community leader and businessman based in Nnewi, said that “Nigeria has lost most charismatic politician of present generation to the cold hands of death”.
Beluchukwu described Ubah as a “fine politicians with human face” and added that Anambra had lost a chance to be governed by an erudite politician.
It was reported in media space that the lawmaker died in the early hours of Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Uba is a two-term vocal lawmaker. He initially joined the Senate under the Young People’s Party (YPP) but recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Born on Sept 3, 1971, Ubah was a politician, entrepreneur, and businessman. He founded Capital Oil (CCO) and served as its CEO until his demise.
Uba’s company’s facilities and outlets are primarily located in the Southeast and Southwest regions of Nigeria, a great philanthropist.
He hailed from Nnewi, Anambra State. Married with children.
