September 24 Is Sallah Day

THE Jamaátu Nasril Islam, the umbrella body for Islamic organisations in Nigeria, JNI, has declared Thursday, September 24, as Eid-el-Kabir day in Nigeria.

A statement by Khadir Aliyu, secretary general of the JNI, in Kaduna on Monday, September 14, said Thursday, September 24, will be marked as Eid-el-Kabir and urged the Muslim Ummah to disregard an earlier statement released by the JNI headquarters on the matter.

The JNI is under the leadership of Saád Abubakar III, Sultan of Sokoto and head of Muslim community in Nigeria.
