Serena Can’t Tell Sex of Her Baby

LIKE Serena Williams’s accidental Snapchat pregnancy announcement earlier this year, it seemed likely that her sister, Venus Williams, may have committed a folly of her own at the French Open on Thursday, June 1. Venus seemingly let slip to a group of reporters the sex of her sister’s baby, referring to the baby as “she,” when hoping she’d be her “favorite aunt.”

But before you celebrate on behalf of the tennis legend and her fiancé, Alexis Ohanian, hold up — Williams is clarifying that she has no idea what the sex of her baby is, and she doesn’t even want to find out until she actually gives birth.

“I think the surprise of knowing what you are going to have on that very special day you give birth is the best surprise you can ever have!” Williams wrote in a Twitter post.

“So to clarify what Venus said, I am always joking with my sisters to see what favours I can get them [to] do for me next. If I want something from one of my sisters, I say baby Venus, baby Lyn, or baby Isha needs it.”
