Shun cultism, other social vices — Assemblyman tells students

MR Abdullahi Angibi, member representing Lafia Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has advised students to shun cultism examination malpractices and other social ills to enhance the development of education in the country.

Angibi, the Chairman, House Committee on Public Account, gave the advice on Friday in Lafia while receiving an award of Excellence from Lafia Old Students Association set of 2009 of Government Science School, Lafia.

He said that cultism, examination malpractices and other social vices had affected the education of many students negatively.

While thanking God and the students for the award, he said that it would spur him to do more towards touching the lives of students and his constituents positively.

He called on the students to take their studies seriously to excel in their academic pursuits so as to justify the huge investment of their parents and the government in their education.

The lawmaker called on the students and other Nigerians to support government policies and programmes to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

He also promise continued determination to provide more democratic dividends to the people of the constituency if voted for another term come 2023.

Angibi said that providing more dividends of democracy to the people of the area would not only improve on their standard of living but would also promote peace and development in the constituency.

He solicited the support of the association and from all and sundry to enable him to succeed in 2023 general elections.

Earlier, Mr Muhktar Aliyu, the president of the association, said that the visit was to identify with Angibi over his good leadership.

He said that the member “is doing well towards improving on the standard of living of the people of the constituency.

“Today, Assemblyman Angibi has provided jobs to a large population of young brilliant and promising graduates among other gestures”.(NAN)
