THE Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has strongly condemned the recent abduction of over 40 female students from the Federal University Gusau.

This is contained in a statement by Engr Abubakar Gambo Umar, Director General of the foundation, on Monday in kaduna .

The statement said the foundation considers the act to be ignoble, dastardly, and a gross violation of the sanctity of human life and the pursuit of education.

It expressed its deepest sympathies and solidarity with the affected students, their families, and the entire university community during this challenging time. We stand united in calling for the immediate and safe rescue of the innocent students.

The egregious incident further highlights the urgent need for enhanced security measures in all educational institutions across the country.

“It is imperative that our educational institutions become safe spaces where students can focus on their studies without fear of abduction or harm.

The foundation also implored all well-meaning Nigerians, civil society organizations and the international community to join hands in condemning the act of violence and in demanding the swift rescue of the abducted students.

The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation urged the Nigerian government, security agencies, and relevant stakeholders to prioritize  security of educational institutions.

“We call for the deployment of additional security personnel and the implementation of robust security measures to safeguard the lives and properties of students, faculty, and staff,” it said.

The Foundation reiterated its commitment to promoting education, peace, and development in Nigeria.

“We remain resolute in our pursuit of a society where every Nigerian can access quality education in a safe and secure environment. (NAN)
