SKYE Bank Plc has donated a 15-seater Toyota Hiace Bus and 25 branded HP Computer Work Stations to the newly-established Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State as part of its corporate social responsibility. The donation by the financial institution was the first to be done by any corporate organisation apart from the building of its take-off site donated by the Ile-Oluji local government.

The items were handed to Emmanuel Fasakin, rector of the polytechnic, at an event witnessed by other principal staff of the institution, community leaders and Ondo State government representatives.

At the event, Adesoye Yusuf, regional manager, Ondo/Ekiti Region of the bank, said the donation was made to assist in the effective take-off of the institution, adding that the bank had done many of such in the past.

“It is our culture to identify and partner with educational institutions, in the area of CRS and this is borne out of our belief that government should not be left alone in the business of providing social amenities”, he said.

The regional manager disclosed that members of staff of Skye Bank in Ondo and Ekiti States adopted two schools where computer work stations, text books and note books and other writing materials were donated as part of 2014 Literacy Day celebration.

While stating that the bank was glad to be the number one bank to publicly identify with the young institution, Yusuf said the donation would serve as first step towards a mutually beneficial relationship between the two institutions. The rector said the bank was working in line with the vision of the institution. He promised that the items would be put into judicious use, adding that there would be justification for everything he would do as the chief executive of the polytechnic.
