MR Olawale Fasanya, Director-General of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), said the agency was collaborating with Google and an NGO, to train entrepreneurs on acquisition of digital skills for their businesses

Fasanya stated this during a one-day workshop organised for 30 selected enterpreneurs in Katsina on Thursday in collaboration with the NGO, ‘Mind the Gate’.

Represented by North-West Zonal Director of SMEDAN, Alhaji Suleiman Yusuf, the DG said that the initiative would afford the participants the ability to acquire skills to use computers in their businesses with ease through google.

“It is for this reason that we have selected 30 participants that we are giving the training on how to conduct their businesses in a digital manner.

“We have already supported them in their enterprises. The only thing we are now doing is building their capacity on computer skills,” Fasanya said.

Earlier, the Resource Person from “Mind the Gate”, Mr Edino Jonathan, stated that enterpreneurs could use computer to woo customers through online and boost their businesses.

“This is because enterpreneurs can solicit and advertise their products in a digital way to attract more income in their businesses,” Jonathan said. (NAN).
