Sofia advises Bulgarian citizens to leave Russia
Foreign
BULGARIA has advised its citizens in Russia to leave and recommended against travelling within the country, with the Foreign Ministry in Sofia justifying this with the “complicating situation.”
Bulgarian citizens should consider leaving the country quickly, using available means of transport, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The ministry said Bulgarians remaining in Russia were advised to be more vigilant and to avoid places with large gatherings of people.
EU and NATO country Bulgaria had condemned Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Sofia also said it would not recognise the widely criticised annexation referendums in Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine. (dpa/NAN)
